With the opportunity for endless discovery and a host of exciting new on-board amenities, including indulgent Banyan Tree spa treatments and Michelin starred guest chefs such asNico Boreas from the two starred Boreas restaurant in Holland, The World offers a unique way to discover the year ahead.
Itinerary
In February, Residents and Guests on board The World visited Peru’s exotic coastal city Lima and the pretty colonial town Trujillo, before sailing to the breathtakingly beautiful Colombian town of Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage site. March sees the vessel anchor at the perennially chic Caribbean Island of St Barthemeley (St. Barths) prior to her northbound journey to the city of Oslo, cruising through the Norwegian fjords onward to St Petersburg’s glorious Winter Palace.
In September, The World will dock in Monaco, surely the most glamorous of the yachts lined up in this famous harbor, and then pass through Venice and Istanbul before exploring the picturesque Indian Ocean islands of Madagascar, Nosy Be and the Seychelles. Renowned for its exceptional beauty and carefully preserved flora and fauna, the 18-day Madagascar Expedition in December will highlight an amazing year of global exploration with an in-depth look at the region. Created exclusively for Residents and Guests of The World, it will bring together a team of 8 to 12 experts who will provide hands-on experience and knowledge about the islands’ rich history, culture, geography, ecosystem and more.
The World will sail into the British Isles from June 4th - 17th, docking for five days in Greenwich, London and continuing onto Newcastle and historic Edinburgh.
The year will round-off in incredible style with New Year in Cape Town, South Africa. One-of-a-kind tours and enriching experiences will sign-off the year, as Residents and Guest enjoy exclusive access to wine estates and tailor-made cultural itineraries or simply enjoy a view of majestic Table Mountain from their balcony.
Spa
Home to the only Banyan Tree Spa at sea, The World will launch luxurious treatments from renowned Spanish skincare brand Natura Bisse in 2011 and, as ever, Residents and Guests are looked after and pampered by some of the best and most talented professional estheticians.
